The NanoLumens Marketing Team returned from dreamforce last week and noticed some interesting digital signage trends throughout the conference. For those not familiar with dreamforce, it is a conference put on by salesforce.com and it has become the largest cloud computing conference in the world. Imagine 93,000 people crammed in 2 city blocks in downtown San Francisco. You need some serious messaging power to communicate clearly and efficiently with that many people.
So how can you communicate with that many people at one time? Enter: large-format LED signage. There were multiple tight pitch, high resolution LED walls throughout the conference halls measuring anywhere from 15ft x 6ft on the low end to a massive welcome screen measuring well over 45ft x 15ft. The organizers of dreamforce were smart to use this type of signage for branding, way-finding, information updates and live coverage of the conference. As an attendee, I always felt up to date and well exposed to all of their sponsors. There is no other technology that can provide this type of scale, brightness and mass impact.
Don’t get me wrong, they used projection, LCD’s and mobile touch apps at dreamforce as well, but they knew where and how to properly use each respective technology in the right environment, integrated together, for maximum impact.
So, if dreamforce, the largest cloud computing conference in the world feels that large-format LED signage is the best way to make their primary statement, what does that mean for you or your business?
